This event is designed for Youths aged 12 to 17 yrs (under 18 years) to have a taste of what it takes to be a Hard Labourer. Three disciplines over the 2 days are completed being: Kayak on lake Ruataniwha (5km), Mountain Bike (16km) and Off Road Run (10km).

If the weather is not suitable for open water paddling or for other reasons the organisers may change to indoor rowing.
Sit on top kayaks (and paddles) will be provided for all youth competitors (no other kayaks allowed) and is included in the race entry. Ideally bring your own buoyancy vest or use one provided.
Only Youth Hard Labourers will be eligible to compete in the 5km Kayak.
Please pick up registration pack on Friday at the Twizel Event centre 6pm-8pm.
We plan on running a few kayak training sessions in the 4 weeks prior to the Hard Labour Weekend. Please follow our facebook page for updates.
